Restoring the Temple: Healthful Cookery 

The body should be servant to the mind, and not the mind to the body.

Don't make your stomach your god!

Philippians 3:19 "Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things".

Thoughts, words, actions, habits, character, destiny. The Bible says in Proverbs 3:27, "as a man thinks in his heart (mind), so is he." You will eventually become what you think about.
"Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth" Colossians 3:2.  Think and study about what we will eat in Heaven - we should then eat as close to that as possible here.

The reason why our bodies crave certain foods is because we are lacking in nutrition. LIVE FOOD NUTRITION. Alcoholics, drug addicts, food addicts are all lacking minerals, enzymes their body desperately needs. Live raw uncooked food is the only way to get that nutrition. 

Please understand that health begins with what you eliminate from your diet, not with what you add. The first step in recovery and healing is to remove the problem foods from your diet, pantry, cupboards, refrigerator and freezers. Then you can replace them with the healthy food you should have been eating from the beginning. Knowledge is power. 

Eating highly processed foods and acid forming foods prevent the body from receiving oxygen. Every bite taken from foods that come in a container, box, can, bottle or bag contributes to cancer. I tell everyone to be weary of eating these acid forming foods, especially foods without an expiration date. Healthy food is supposed to spoil after a few weeks, even a month. But if it lasts much longer, be wary. The food item is most likely very processed with many chemicals and other drugs to prolong the shelf life, while shortening the life of your body.

Abusing foods are the most common stress to the body. People eat foods that were never meant to be in our sacred body temple aka "church", they consume foods in amounts that their body can’t manage, and they eat at times they shouldn't be eating. Our body is to be the dwelling place of God and His Son's Spirit.

Eat or drink fresh fruits while you are regaining health. "In grains, fruits, vegetables, and nuts are to be found ALL the food elements that we need" CDF 92, 310, 313.

God never meant for foods to be processed. God never intended for animals to be killed in the garden of Eden. Never be ashamed to say, 'No, thank you; I do not eat meat. I have conscientious scruples against eating the flesh of dead animals'. Dead carcasses or any product made from an animal based product like eggs, milk or cheese should always be looked upon as not fit to compose the diet of Christians today.

God is bringing His people back to His original design, that is, not to subsist upon the flesh of dead animals. He would have us teach people a better way. If meat is discarded, if the taste is not educated in that direction, if a liking for fruits and grains is encouraged, it will soon be as God in the beginning designed it should be. No meat will be used by His people.

God gave our first parents the food He designed that the race should eat. It was contrary to His plan to have the life of any creature taken. There was to be no death in Eden.

"Fruits and grains (pulse), prepared in the most simple form, are the most healthful, and will impart the greatest amount of nourishment to the body, and, at the same time, not impair the intellect2T 399. 

Grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables constitute the diet chosen for us by our Creator. These foods, prepared in as simple and natural a manner as possible,  are the most healthful and nourishing. They impart a strength, a power of endurance, and a vigour of intellect, that are not afforded by a more complex and stimulating diet.

The food which God gave Adam in his sinless state is the best for man’s use as he seeks to regain that sinless state!

As disease in animals increases
, the use of milk and eggs will become more and more unsafe. An effort should be made to supply their place with other things that are healthful and inexpensive. The people everywhere should be taught how to cook without milk and eggs, so far as possible, and yet have their food wholesome and palatable.

Those who have received instruction re­garding the evils of the use of flesh foods, tea and coffee, and rich and unhealthful food preparations, and who are determined to make a covenant with God by sacrifice, will not con­tinue to indulge their appetite for food that they know to be unhealthful. God demands that the appetites be cleansed (like he cleansed the temple from the money changers in the temple - take these things hence, my house shall be called a house of prayer!), and that self-denial be practiced in regard to those things which are not good. This is a work that will have to be done before His people can stand before Him a perfected people.

      “I solemnly promise, before God, to abstain from tobacco, spirituous liquors, snuff, tea, coffee, flesh-meats, butter, spices, rich cake, mince pies, a large amount of salt, and animal fat of all kinds, baking powder, soda or saleratus (baking soda) in any form, and cheese, and from all exciting articles of food, and to abstain from eating between meals, and to do all I can to induce others to do likewise.”
